There are animals in the world today whose populations are so small that they are no longer known as a species, but as individual beings. They can be called by name, their stories recognized, their lives followed day by day.

This was the case with the northern white rhinos, when only three individuals remained alive: Sudan, Najin, and Fatu. Today, only two females remain, and the entire subspecies exists on the edge of biological memory.

Similar stories are happening right now. Only a few dozen individuals remain of species such as the vaquita (Gulf of California porpoise) or the Sumatran tiger. Their existence balances on the edge of silence  between what is still alive and what is about to become memory.

There are also animals that are already gone. The passenger pigeon, once counted in billions, disappeared completely at the beginning of the 20th century. The last individual, Martha, died in 1914. The thylacine once present not long ago- now exists only in archival recordings. The dodo has vanished forever from the surface of the Earth.Extinction is no longer a distant or abstract process. It is happening before our eyesquietly, systematically, often unnoticed.

That is why I have decided to invite sculptors and ceramic artists both professionals and those who create intuitively  to collectively shape an artistic response to this reality under the shared title “Species.”

The project is structured in two stages.

In the first stage, each invited artist creates an individual work  a personal sculptural narrative about a chosen species, its disappearance, memory, or relationship with humans.

In the second stage, selected works are brought together into a shared installation or expanded with a collective element, forming a cohesive experience that goes beyond individual narratives.

This structure allows each artist to retain their individual voice while building a strong, unified message an artistic response to vanishing life.

I invite ceramicists and sculptors  both professionals and amateurs  to take part in this project.
